Why now it is the right time to go on short trips!

Our travelling habits have drastically changed since the outbreak of the pandemic. Airports had been closed for months and still to this point, travelling to other countries brings various challenges with it. Most of them have a strict quarantine time up to 14 days upon arrival from a high risk zone and entering another country often comes with difficult requirements. For example, here in Costa Rica visitors need a specific health insurance that covers the costs of the hospitalization in case of a severe COVID-19 infection. Additionally, people have to bring a negative COVID-19 maximum 72 hours before entering the country.

These conditions don’t seem to end any time soon but every travel bug, like myself, is dying to get out of their daily routine and explore new places. But isn’t it that we mostly don’t know many places in the country we currently live in or have been living all our lives? If we go on a vacation, we normally look for a complete change of our environment. We want to have a different climate, learn about another culture and explore new countries we have never been before.

I am confident, that every country in this world has places worth a visit. So why don’t we just sit in our cars or take a train or bus to explore our own surroundings? It not only gives us a getaway from our daily routine, it also supports the small businesses in our countries that are dying for tourists. Hotels never had better deals then right now, so you can even get around on a lower budget.

I personally love to grab my MAILA Dufflebag and my surfboard to go on a short trip to another beach. Luckily the options here in Costa Rica are endless and honestly most of the breaks I have never surfed before.

If you are looking for the perfect weekender, check out our variation of duffle bags! They have plenty of space for a short trip, are comfortable to wear and are hand luggage size in case you want to take a plane.

So let’s all pack our bags and explore!!
